This year, the prime shopping location is bringing the much-adored HANGYODON from Sanrio for the Hong Kong first HANGYODON decorations to celebrate the holiday season in Hong Kong!From November 22, 2024, through January 1, 2025, Festival Walk is hosting the HANGYODON • HONG KONG WINTER FUN FEST 2024, featuring a stunning 5-meter-tall HANGYODON snow mountain, accompanied by a HANGYODON-themed torii, chairlift, snowman, and other eye-catching installations for a joyous, Japanese-style Christmas celebration. 

A vast array of limited-edition merchandises – including Festival Walk exclusives – are up for grabs at the event pop-up store, among which a collection of HANGYODON plush toys (50 random styles) will be available for purchases on a fortune stick drawing basis. In addition, Greyhound Café is launching a series of HANGYODON-themed food items for fans to add to the HANGYODON Christmas fun. During the event period, My FESTIVAL members shall enjoy a series of shopping privileges. Upon designated spending amounts, members can even take home a HANGYODON Snow Mountain Furry Clutch Bag or redeem an entry pass to Hong Kong’s first HANGYODON Fans Meeting. What’s more, Canto pop queen Joey Yung appeared at the kick-off ceremony as a guest of honour and instantly became a HANGYODON superfan! Quirky HANGYODON arrives in Hong Kong with squid best friend Sayuri

Born with large expressive eyes and big pouty lips, HANGYODON was selected as the 8th in Sanrio character ranking 2024. Half-fish half-human, this whimsically kawaii character is an aspiring comedian with a sensitive heart who dreads loneliness. That’s why HANGYODON’s visit to Festival Walk this winter is accompanied by his squid best friend Sayuri. The mega installations at Festival Walk surely make for an unmissable insta-spot for fans!

Stunning 5-meter-tall HANGYODON snow mountain heightens wintery ambiance 

The 5-meter-tall HANGYODON on Level LG2 of Festival Walk resembles a towering snow mountain. Snow Mountain HANGYODON has giant LED screens as eyes, so fans can catch a glimpse of the quirky expressions that this cutie makes even from afar. At the summit are HANGYODON and Sayuri enjoying life in an onsen, underneath some splendid fireworks, surrounded by colourful HANGYODON pennants. On one side of the snow mountain is a HANGYODON torii adorned with HANGYODON-themed lanterns with blessing words, while the other side is a HANGYODON awaiting a funicular, as well as a HANGYODON dressed as a snowman. Who can resist these adorable cuties?

Festival Walk is launching a series of HANGYODON • HONG KONG WINTER FUN FEST 2024 merchandises, including tote bags, T-shirt and LED glow stick.

Japanese-style pop-up store featuring limited-edition HANGYODON mystery boxes 

Resembling a Japanese-style boutique, the event pop-up store features the HANGYODON signature colour scheme, with a picturesque wintery view on the façade. The HANGYODON • HONG KONG WINTER FUN FEST 2024 map found on one of the walls will make for a perfect photo backdrop! 

A brand-new collection of HANGYODON plush toy mystery boxes (50 random styles, including a special edition) is displayed at the pop-up store entrance. The mystery boxes are available for purchase on a fortune stick drawing basis, which is limited to 6 per customer. A word of advice: act fast before they are sold out!

Festival Walk-exclusives for purchase and redemption

In addition, a vast array of Festival Walk exclusives is up for grabs at the HANGYODON pop-up stores, featuring debut items such as plush, cushions, keychains, and many more – with other additions in December! Upon spending a designated amount at the pop-up store, customers will enjoy a series of shopping privileges. Upon spending HK$400 (in one purchase), customers will receive a limited-edition HANGYODON postcard and stickers set. Upon any purchase, customers can take home a limited-edition HANGYODON eco bag for only HK$40. Only limited supplies are available for all items; first-come, first-served.

Greyhound Café at Festival Walk launches HANGYODON • HONG KONG WINTER FUN FEST 2024 menu

During the HANGYODON • HONG KONG WINTER FUN FEST 2024 event, Greyhound Café at Festival Walk will offer a featured menu, including HANGYODON-themed mini burgers, blueberry cake, mango glutinous rice, cappuccino, and cream soda special. The restaurant will turn into a HANGYODON wonderland filled with HANGYODON snow mountain installations and decorations galore!

Canto pop queen Joey Yung becomes a HANGYODON superfan 

Canto pop queen Joey Yung appeared at the HANGYODON • HONG KONG WINTER FUN FEST 2024 kick-off ceremony as a guest of honour. Joey could not contain her excitement at the sight of the HANGYODON snow mountain! Mesmerized by the changing expressions of the snow mountain as well as HANGYODON and Sayuri in the onsen, Joey exclaimed, “That’s so cute! HANGYODON is officially my my favourite cartoon character now! I see his resemblance to myself, especially the big eyes and full lips. This Japanese-style Christmas celebration is definitely a pleasant surprise!”

Instantly turned into a HANGYODON superfan, Joey snapped away at the mega map of the HANGYODON • HONG KONG WINTER FUN FEST 2024 at the event pop-up store. She also quickly set eyes on the mystery box collection at the store entrance and yearned to purchase the entire series in one go! “There are so many unmissable Festival Walk exclusives at the store! The t-shirt and brooch set as well as the tote bag are my favourites! They will make for some perfect Christmas gifts!”
